Cost vs. Performance Comparison of CCD and CMOS Sensors

The two shots below were taken at the same exposure.  The first shot used an A311FC camera with a CCD sensor.  The second shot utilized an A601FC camera with a CMOS sensor.

The above shots were taken at the same exposure period.  By increasing the f-stop on the A311FC to decrease the amount of light entering the lens, the following result can be achieved:
